Weekly Update: Family Fun, Football, and Permanent Jewelry in Brownwood

What a week it has been here in Brownwood, Texas! Between my kids’ busy schedules, business milestones, and family traditions, I feel like we packed a month into just a few days.

Family & Sports

Hudson started intramural basketball this week and had three games right off the bat! On top of that, he also jumped into a brand-new adventure with 4-H livestock judging — which I think is going to be such a fun and educational experience for him.

Kinsler hasn’t slowed down one bit either. He’s gearing up for his first junior high football game next week, plus he’s back in soccer practice and still committed to his travel baseball team. Needless to say, our evenings and weekends are full of bleachers, fields, and courts — and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Business Updates: Palm Breeze & Permanent Jewelry

One of the highlights of my week was our second Palm Breeze check-in Zoom. There were six of us on the call, and every single one of us boldly claimed that we’d be earning that free trip to Cancun in January. I’m thrilled that four of us (myself included 🙌) have already earned it — all thanks to our permanent jewelry businesses.

This journey with permanent jewelry has been such a blessing, not just financially but also in helping me connect with incredible women who are chasing their dreams right alongside me.

I also set up something fun for anyone who’s curious about starting: a Permanent Jewelry Quiz! It’s a quick way to find out what type of permanent jewelry designer you’d be. I’ll share the link so you can check it out and see which category you fall into.

Friend Time & Football

On Friday, I got together with two of my sweet friends, Jenna and Lindsey. Our oldest boys are best friends, which makes it extra fun when us moms hang out — lots of laughter and plenty of “boy talk.”

Of course, we couldn’t miss the Texas Longhorns’ first game. Even though it was against last year’s national champions, Ohio State, and didn’t go our way, only losing by seven is nothing to hang our heads about. Some people are making it into a bigger deal than it is, but I’m proud of our team. Hook ’em! 🤘

Customer Spotlight & New Jewelry

I absolutely love featuring my customers, and this week I want to shine a light on Jennifer Bowden. Her son plays for Lamar, and she ordered the cutest numbers necklace. The number charms are adorable on all necklace styles. Comes in Silver and Gold. I love how personalized pieces like this can connect to memories and milestones.

Speaking of sports, I’ve been creating bandana sports necklaces with custom charms in school colors. These are so fun for showing off team spirit — just send me a quick message if you’d like to get on my list for one.

And don’t miss the Blaze Earrings! These lightweight wood leopard hoops are only $18 and have been a huge hit. I’ll drop the link so you can snag your pair.

Family Time: Labor Day Weekend

We wrapped up the week with our annual Labor Day get-together with my stepdad’s family. It was filled with games, baggo (or cornhole, depending on what you call it), fishing, and lots of relaxation. These are the kinds of weekends that remind me how important it is to slow down and soak in the moments with the people you love.

Wrapping Up

So that’s our week here in Brownwood, Texas — a mix of sports, friends, family, and growing my permanent jewelry business. Every week brings something new, and I love being able to share both my personal journey and the opportunities that come with being a permanent jewelry artist.

Stay tuned, because next week the Doremus family is sure to bring plenty more fun, excitement, and sparkle!
