Sometimes stepping away from your everyday life is exactly what you need—even when stepping away is the hardest part.

Our schedules lately have been FULL. Between work, school, sports, games, business, and all the normal everyday things that come with raising a family, there is pretty much something on the calendar every single day.

So, leading up to this trip, leaving was honestly harder for me than I expected.

I knew I was going to miss some of the boys’ games. I knew I was going to miss those everyday moments that might seem small until you aren’t there for them. And over the last few years, I haven’t had to miss many of those things.

That made leaving a little bittersweet.

But I also knew this trip was an opportunity I needed to say yes to.

From Texas to Punta Cana

Jessica and I left later Tuesday evening and stayed at a hotel before our flight. And, per the usual when we’re traveling, we ate dinner at the hotel and tried to get a little sleep before the very early morning ahead of us.

And when I say a little sleep…I mean a little.

We got about four hours before the alarm went off at 2:00 a.m. so we could head to the airport around 3:00.

Thankfully, we were incredibly blessed to fly first class on both flights, which made that early morning a little easier!

By around 12:30 p.m., we had officially made it to Punta Cana, and from there…the rest is history.

Four Days of Relaxing, Learning & Connecting

The next four days were such a good combination of everything I needed.

There was plenty of pool time.

There was amazing food, including trying things I wouldn’t normally eat at home.

There were new experiences.

There was time to slow down.

But one of my favorite parts was getting to spend time with some of the top leaders in our company.

There’s something different about being able to sit down with women who are doing really big things and simply talk.

Not just listening to someone teach from a stage or watching a training online, but having actual one-on-one conversations.

Asking questions.

Listening to how they think.

Talking about business, leadership, growth, goals, struggles and what comes next.

Sometimes you don’t even realize how much you need to be around like-minded people until you’re sitting around a table with people who understand exactly what you’re trying to build.

I came home rested, but I also came home inspired.

And I think that’s one of the best things travel can give us.

Sometimes physically removing yourself from your normal routine gives you enough space to look at that routine with fresh eyes.

And Then…Back to Reality 😂

Of course, vacation doesn’t last forever.

We got home around 1:45 or 2:00 in the morning, and then it was right back into real life.

I came on into work, and suddenly we went from palm trees and pool chairs right back to schedules, kids, work, activities, business and everything waiting at home.

And that’s really where I am right now:

Getting back into the rhythm.

Not necessarily trying to do everything perfectly.

Just figuring out what’s next and tackling one thing at a time.

Because this week certainly isn’t a slow week!

We have our permanent jewelry class, we’re in the middle of one of our online bashes, we have football games Thursday, and then a stock show Friday.

Our online bash is basically a fun, week-long shopping experience where we get to hang out with our customers, play games, share jewelry, give away prizes and just have FUN together.

So there was no easing back into normal life over here. 😂

But in a strange way, I love that.

Building a Business That Fits Into Real Life

Trips like this remind me why flexibility has become so important to me.

I don’t have a perfectly quiet life where I can dedicate eight uninterrupted hours every day to building a business.

I’m a mom.

I have a family.

I have another job.

We have sports.

There are practices, games, dinners, laundry, school activities and approximately 8,472 places someone needs to be. 😂

And somewhere inside all of that, I’m building something I genuinely love.

That’s one of the reasons I’ve become so passionate about helping other women start their own permanent jewelry businesses.

I’m based in Brownwood, Texas, but I work with and train women all over the United States who want to start offering permanent jewelry in their own communities.

Some want a full business.

Some want something they can build around another job.

Some are stay-at-home moms who want something of their own.

Some already have boutiques, salons or other businesses and want to add an additional income stream.

There isn’t one perfect version.

And that’s kind of the point.

Helping Women Start Permanent Jewelry Businesses Across the U.S.

Over the last year, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to become the top recruiter in our company, but what I love most isn’t really the title.

It’s getting to watch someone go from:

“I don’t know if I can do this…”

to

“I just made my first sale!”

Getting started can feel intimidating.

What do I order?

How do I price it?

How do I find customers?

What do I post?

Where do I host events?

How do I actually put the jewelry on someone?

Those are the questions I help women work through.

I’m not interested in handing someone a kit and saying, “Good luck!”

I love the training side.

I love helping someone get that first event booked.

I love brainstorming when they’re stuck.

I love watching that confidence start to grow.

Because most women don’t need to have everything figured out before they start.

They just need someone willing to show them the next step.

Our September Permanent Jewelry Sign-On Special

And if you’ve been thinking about starting a permanent jewelry business, September is an especially good time to take a look at it.

Our permanent jewelry starter kit is currently $175, and this month new designers are also receiving additional product value on top of the kit.

The kit gives you what you need to begin learning and offering permanent jewelry, along with the tools and training to help you actually get started.

And when you join my team, you aren’t limited by where you live.

Whether you’re right here in Central Texas or across the country, I can help walk you through the process.

Coming Home With a Little More Perspective

So yes, I came home to laundry.

And schedules.

And work.

And games.

And messages.

And a business that certainly didn’t stop while I was sitting beside the pool. 😂

But I also came home grateful.

Grateful for the opportunity to travel.

Grateful for the people I got to learn from.

Grateful that I missed my boys enough to be excited to jump right back into their crazy schedules.

And really grateful that I get to build something that can exist right alongside the rest of my life.

I don’t think the goal is necessarily to build a life that always feels like vacation.

I think maybe the goal is to build a life that you’re genuinely happy to come home to.

And that’s exactly what I’m working on.

til next time
